Terms of Service

Terms for using befinely.

These Terms govern access to the befinely budgeting application, website, and paid subscription service.

befinely is recordkeeping software. It is not a bank, lender, broker, exchange, adviser, money transmitter, payment processor, escrow provider, or custodian of funds.

1. Agreement and eligibility

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be legally able to enter a contract and must provide accurate account information. If you use befinely for a household, you are responsible for inviting only people authorized to view that household data.

2. Service

befinely provides digital tools to record budgeting information, create budgets and plans, track goals, and calculate historical reports. The service is described in the Product Scope. We may improve the interface and core functions while preserving the material service purchased for the current billing period.

3. Your records and responsibilities

You retain responsibility for the records you submit. You grant befinely the limited right to host, process, and display them only as needed to operate, secure, and support the service. You must verify calculations before relying on them and maintain any independent records required for tax, legal, or accounting purposes.

4. Accounts and security

Keep your credentials confidential and notify security@befinely.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it results from a security failure controlled by befinely.

5. Subscription, renewal, and delivery

Published prices and billing cycles appear on the Pricing page. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. The payment provider shown at checkout acts as Merchant of Record and handles checkout, applicable taxes, receipts, and payment processing. Digital access is applied after befinely verifies the checkout webhook.

You can cancel through Billing settings and the original payment provider's customer portal. Cancellation prevents the next renewal and normally leaves access active through the paid period.

6. Refunds

Refund eligibility and the request process are stated in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.

7. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service for unlawful activity, fraud, or abuse.
  • Do not attempt to access another user's data or bypass feature, billing, or security controls.
  • Do not interfere with the service, run unauthorized automated extraction, or introduce malicious code.
  • Do not represent befinely records as verified bank records or regulated financial statements.

8. No financial advice

The service does not provide financial, investment, credit, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Reports are generated from user-controlled data and may be incomplete or incorrect.

9. Availability and liability

We work to keep the service available and secure but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, befinely is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, external bank activity, decisions based on user-entered records, or services provided by third parties. Liability that cannot legally be excluded remains unaffected.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, protect users, comply with law, or address nonpayment. You may stop using the service and request account deletion from Settings. Deletion has a 30-day restoration window before permanent purge.

11. Changes and law

Material changes will be posted with an updated date and, when appropriate, notified in the service. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the service operator, without removing mandatory protections available in your country of residence.

12. Contact
